Depression isn’t weakness—it’s a sign you’ve been strong for too long. Let’s work through this together at your pace, in your way.

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” — Helen Keller

That heaviness you’re carrying? The days when getting out of bed feels like climbing a mountain? You’re not imagining it, and you’re definitely not alone. Depression shows up differently for everyone – maybe you’re crying all the time, or maybe you’ve gone numb and can’t feel much of anything. Some days you might feel irritable, exhausted, or just… empty. Here’s what matters: reaching out took courage, and we’re genuinely glad you’re here. Depression is treatable, and we’ve helped hundreds of people find their way back to feeling like themselves again. You don’t have to white-knuckle through this
We Start Where You Are Not where you “should” be, not where your family thinks you should be – where you actually are right now. Struggling to shower? That’s our starting point. Can’t stop crying? We’ve got you. Numb and just going through the motions? Let’s work with that.

Honestly? It varies. Depression isn’t like a broken bone with a predictable healing timeline. Your progress depends on how long you’ve been depressed, what’s causing it, what other support you have, and lots of other individual factors. What we can promise is that we’ll work at your pace and help you notice the progress as it happens
That’s completely your choice, and it’s something we can explore together. Therapy alone works great for many people. For others, medication plus therapy is the winning combination. We can help you think through your options, and if medication seems helpful, we can coordinate with a psychiatrist. There’s no pressure either way – this is about what works for you.
We get it – therapy is an investment. Many of our therapists accept insurance, and since we’re independent practitioners, everyone sets their own fees. We also have interns and externs who offer reduced rates under supervision. Give us a call and we’ll work hard to find an option that fits your budget. Don’t let cost stop you from reaching out – we’ll figure something out.
Absolutely. You don’t have to be comfortable with feelings to start therapy – in fact, lots of people come to us specifically because they struggle with emotions. A good therapist meets you where you are. If talking about feelings is hard, we’ll go slow. We’ll build trust first. You’re in control of what you share and when you share it. Nobody’s going to force you to open up before you’re ready.
Because therapy is an individualized process, your therapist will need to gather some information from you before being able to answer that question. Your preferences about goals and direction are also important to answering that question. We suggest that the first few sessions serve as an opportunity to gather information, become acquainted and formulate a plan together. A good time to ask your therapist about length of treatment is during the first few sessions.
