It is all too easy to feel overwhelmed by anxious feelings, negative thoughts, painful memories, addictive tendencies, or the many competing demands of life in general. Acknowledging and seeking support during these times can be difficult, and I am glad you are beginning your journey toward improvement. I take a warm and client-centered approach to helping clients better understand their distress and implement evidence-based techniques to promote improvements in psychological well-being. I specialize in working with people facing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and general life stress.

During therapy, I aim to foster a safe environment where we can collaboratively explore how individual experiences, thoughts, and feelings impact current psychological well-being and behavior. My goal is to understand each client’s story, how they got to where they are, and, ultimately, to help clients make powerful changes that align with their individual values and needs. By helping clients reflect on both their interactions with themselves and the world around them, we can begin to work through the internal barriers that are keeping them stuck.

My therapeutic approach is guided by evidenced-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotional-focused therapy (EFT), motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I recognize that no two people are the same and strive to tailor my approach to the unique experiences of each client. Although making any kind of change comes with challenges, I hope to be a helpful guide as you navigate the process of self-reflection and begin to increase your confidence in facing current and future obstacles.

I am providing services as a doctoral extern under the supervision of Dr. Kelsi Clayson. I am currently a 4th year doctoral student studying clinical psychology at the University of South Florida (USF). I received my Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Binghamton University, and my Master of Arts in clinical psychology from USF. I have completed practicum experiences at USF’s Psychological Services Center, and work as a therapist on a federally funded clinical trial for treating alcohol use disorders. I am a member of the Society of Addiction Psychology, the Association for Psychological Science (APS), and the Research Society on Alcohol Use. In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in research related to social connectedness and attachment and have published my work in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. I am also a member of the Psychology Diversity Committee’s Undergraduate Mentorship Program and am committed to understanding individual’s unique identities and perspectives.
