Hello, my name is Alexandra! Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families overcome challenges and build healthier relationships with the people they love and care about. I can help you navigate life’s challenges and transitions, work with you to build your personal strengths and meet your goals, and support you through healing from grief or trauma.

My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and personal empowerment. I use an evidenced-based, systemic perspective that focuses on improving your emotional wellbeing to treat issues like anxiety and stress, depression, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, life stage transitions, and LGBTQIA+ concerns.

I am a generalist by training, which means that my experience covers multiple areas including mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, substance abuse counseling, and vocational rehabilitation or disability counseling. As a result, I know how important it is to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. My priority is meeting my clients where they are and making sure they feel supported, safe, and understood in my office no matter what brings them in.

If this sounds like the right approach for you, I invite you to read below for more info on my areas of focus and credentials.

Individual Therapy – Many people struggle with depression, anxiety, loneliness, grief, and the everyday stresses of life, but no two people have the same circumstances. Work with me one-on-one to receive personalized counseling that is targeted to your specific needs. Together we will explore your concerns in a safe, supportive environment that is focused on bringing out your personal strengths and empowering you. Your wellbeing is my priority, and I will support you in moving effectively through crisis, navigating life transitions, and overcoming old patterns that are no longer serving you. Throughout the process, we will always move at your pace and regularly check-in to make sure your goals for the life you want to lead are being met.

Couples & Relational Therapy – We all navigate relationships with our friends, loved ones, and colleagues each day, but some days (and some relationships) are more challenging than others. If there are difficulties in your marriage, if you are struggling to navigate challenging relationship dynamics or boundaries in your day-to-day life, or if you are simply looking for deeper understanding about yourself and how you relate to others, I invite you to work with me to uncover greater respect, intimacy, and satisfaction for your relationship. I work with all types of couples including dating, married, divorced, co-parenting, open, poly, and LGBTQIA+.

Family Therapy – When it comes to relationship roller coasters, families are no exception. It may feel like your family has the power to lift you up or knock you down depending on the day, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. I work with families with older (16+) or adult children who want to bring healing and growth into their relationships. In family therapy, we will focus on healthy communication and learning how to truly listen, clearly express needs, and honor boundaries. Additionally, I welcome every client’s unique family for this type of therapy including nuclear, extended, blended, and found or chosen families.

Substance Abuse Issues – Are alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs negatively affecting you or your loved one? My training is equally divided between mental health and substance abuse counseling, and we can address this issue as part of your individual, couple’s, or family treatment.

Alexandra received her undergraduate degree in Communication with a minor in Human Development from Eckerd College with high honors. She is currently obtaining her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida with a triple concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, Addictions and Substance Abuse Counseling, and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. Her graduate work has been recognized by the national Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Alexandra works under the supervision of Valerie Siegman, LMHC, LMFT.
